Why We Created This Hub
We didn’t set out to create a business. We set out to create the kind of community we were searching for ourselves.
We’re Melissa and Maddy, worldschooling parents of twin boys and longtime residents of Cambodia.
Through years of hospitality, yoga, education, and community events, we kept meeting travelling families who were looking for the same thing: friends for their children, meaningful connection for the parents, and a slower, more personal way to experience Cambodia.
So we created the Shanti Shanti Worldschooling Hub — a place where families can explore through nature, culture, creativity, local experiences, and community. Not simply as tourists passing through, but as part of village life for a little while.

What to expect at our Kampot Hub
A slow, rhythm-based week of shared experiences, nature, culture, and plenty of space for rest, free play, and following children’s curiosity.
Day 1 · Arrival & Orientation
Settle into your accommodation, join a welcome circle at Shanti Shanti, then visit the salt fields and relax at the beach.
Day 2 · Pepper Farm Tour
Visit La Plantation and learn how Kampot pepper is grown and harvested in one of the region’s best-known farms.
Day 3 · Market to Table
Visit a local market, learn about Cambodian ingredients and food culture, then enjoy a hands-on family cooking class and shared lunch.
Day 4 · Culture & Caves
Share a local lunch, visit a pagoda with an optional monk blessing, and explore Kampong Trach Water Cave.
Day 5 · Waterpark & Floating Library
Enjoy a fun local waterpark, visit the riverside Floating Library, and leave space for optional afternoon free play.
Day 6 · Kep Beach Day
Take a day trip to Kep for beach time, relaxed seaside play, and a fresh seafood dinner by the water.
Day 7 · Red Road Foundation
Visit the Red Road Foundation, a community-based nonprofit organization in Kampot, followed by a local lunch.
Day 8 · Kayak & Closing Circle
Kayak through the mangroves, then gather for a closing circle to reflect, connect, and say goodbye.
Participation in all activities is optional. Families are encouraged to listen to their own rhythm, energy, and needs throughout the week.

Our Worldschooling Hub welcomes children of all ages — from toddlers to teens. Activities are flexible and adapted to each child’s stage and interests, creating a space where everyone feels engaged, included, and inspired.
Families can find their own rhythm — from parent-accompanied play to independent sessions, with teens invited to volunteer or mentor. Parents can enjoy yoga, co-work by the river, or simply recharge, knowing their children are safe, learning, and connecting.
Getting to Kampot is easy. Fly into Phnom Penh (KTI) or Sihanoukville (KOS), both 2–3 hours away, then continue by taxi, minivan, bus, or train. We’re happy to help arrange transport, or you can book via Camboticket.

Day 1 · Arrival

Day 3 · Boat & Snorkeling
Half-day boat trip and snorkeling adventure exploring nearby reefs and beaches. BBQ lunch included.
Day 4 · Creativity & Rest
Creative island workshop with a free afternoon for rest, play, or spontaneous exploration.
Day 5 · Closing & Departure
Shared breakfast, closing circle, and free beach time before early lunch and departure around 4pm.

Do we need to already be worldschooling or homeschooling?
Not at all. Some families are experienced worldschoolers, while others are simply curious about a slower, more connected way of traveling and learning together.
What ages is the hub best suited for?
Families with children of all ages are welcome. While each gathering naturally has its own mix of ages, the experience is designed around connection, exploration, creativity, and shared community rather than rigid age groups.
Is the schedule structured or flexible?
We offer a gentle rhythm of shared activities, excursions, and community gatherings while leaving space for rest, free play, downtime, and spontaneous connection.
Can parents work remotely during the hub?
Yes — many families balance work and travel. There are opportunities for parents to co-work, relax nearby, or take time for themselves while children play and connect.
Do families stay together in one accommodation?
Many families choose to stay together at Ganesha Resort Kampot, creating a cozy community atmosphere where children can play freely and families can connect more naturally throughout the experience. Families are also welcome to stay elsewhere in Kampot if preferred.
What makes this hub different?
Our focus is less on packed schedules and more on meaningful connection, cultural immersion, outdoor exploration, creativity, and supporting both children and parents.
Is this hub right for every family?
Our hub is best suited to curious, flexible families who value community participation, cultural respect, outdoor experiences and a balance of activity and rest. It may not be the right fit for families seeking full-time drop-off childcare, a formal academic curriculum, a luxury guided tour or a tightly scheduled program where every activity is mandatory.
